Barclays Black Founder Accelerator 2021 member
Babbu
Babbu is a Digital Nursery™ - an early years ecosystem designed to empower parents to better support their child's development in the first five years.
Why did you join the Barclays Black Founder Accelerator?
To be connected to great founders, advisors and mentors and assist with our business growth in 2022.
Why did you want to start your business?
Having worked in Early Years' for several years and seeing first hand the struggles of parents (especially during COVID) we felt compelled to launch a business to help. There is currently no product in the market, that provides personalised activities and content to parents/carers to guide them on their journey into parenthood and beyond.
What would be your desired outcome from this programme?
Find some B2B customers :-)
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Whitney Wolfe Herd (from Bumble). I love her fierce determination and tenacity, I love her product and of course, I would love to emulate her success.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Many - getting into Barclay's accelerator is a win for sure. Also raising investment from some awesome people, getting customer validation/finding product market fit, building our team... the list goes on.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Many - as someone with little patience, I am finding the speed at which we are able to take a robust product to market, infuriatingly slow.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
Several places, we are lucky to have some amazing board advisors and investors who are there to help whenever we need it.
What drives you to make your business a success?
Making a difference.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Take your time, research, speak to customers, get some good advisors around you - only once you have done all this, then raise money.
