Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Cher Wang is the founder of the billion-dollar tech company HTC. Cher Wang is inspiring to me because she is a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur who has achieved significant success in the male-dominated technology industry. As co-founder and chairman of HTC, one of the world's leading smartphone manufacturers, she has demonstrated that women can excel in leadership roles in technology. Additionally, she has been an advocate for women in technology and has encouraged and supported other women to pursue careers in the field. Her determination and success serve as a powerful example and inspiration to other women who may face obstacles in their own careers.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Considered cutting-edge in my field, and a thought leader on human interaction in the Metaverse, I have been featured on BBC, DW (Germany), CNN, NBC Nightly News, Vogue, Elle and other media outlets as an advocate for shaping the future of the Metaverse. I am a World Economic Forum Global Innovator with a seat at the table to Define and Value Build in Metaverse and the Global Coalition For Digital Safety. As a futurist with a unique background as a psychotherapist and as an experienced consultant, I am currently an advisor to several key projects in the UK and Global Metaverse Industry. I am often invited to present my keynote and attend panels at events such as TechLondon, TechLiveLondon, Metaverse Week London, including the House of Lords and events around the world to share my expertise, thought leadership and unique approach to the consideration of opportunity and challenges as we enter the Metaverse.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is to effectively communicate about the implications and potential of the Metaverse to a wide range of audiences, and addressing concerns about safety and privacy in the Metaverse. Additionally, as a researcher and advocate for safe, responsible approaches to integrating the Metaverse into our lives, I also have faced challenges in convincing various stakeholders of the importance of considering the integration and prioritisation of children and young people's long term needs as well as the psychological and physiological impact of the Metaverse.
