We are building e-spaces an app that is looking to save schools 5M in teacher recruitment costs by eliminating the need for manual marking and admin reducing teacher workload and subsequent burnout.
Why did you apply for the Female Founder Accelerator?
For us it was a no brainer, after speaking to the team at Barclays eagles. The programme is tailored and structured which is what we need in the business at this point n time. In addition we meet as a group, which as a solo founder is priceless to be able to interact with other female founders in a community. Finally the opportunity to show case and meet clients and investors will enable our business to get to the next level enabling us to get closer the vision of schools where teachers focus on teaching to enable all learners achieve their full potential regardless of where they learn.
Do you think there's a need for programmes like this for Female Founders?
Oh yes.
Why did you want to start your business?
I noticed many of my colleagues were leaving the profession.
What are you looking to get out of this programme?
The skills to grow a global business, the partnerships that will help us on the journey.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Warren Buffet, he is humble and has helped so many people.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Our current testing with schools, it has shown me that this is a journey of persistence and follow through.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning to constantly learn.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
I have been very fortunate, throughout I have been meeting and continue to meet many mentors from different areas, innovate edge, to set squared to Founders Institute and at time just my fellow start up founders, and my clients.
What drives you to make your business a success?
A vision of a more modern school that is more equal, children are learning in a fun environment that though big feels like a village as everyone is connected.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Do it, if it's in your heart do it for the person you become through the journey is of most importance.
