Barclays Female Founder Accelerator 2023 member
Atechnics

Atechnics was set up to provide female law firm directors or partners with a trusted source that can help them understand what they need from their tech providers, help them make the right choices in order to ensure maximum ROI whilst meeting their compliance and regulatory requirements.
Why did you apply for the Female Founder Accelerator?
I could see that building a technology business would bring new challenges that I may not have seen whilst building my law firm so I wanted to have a safe environment where I could ask questions and learn from others whilst on the journey.
Do you think there's a need for programmes like this for Female Founders?
Yes absolutely! As a female founder it feels like it is a male dominated arena and that means many women will shy away from bringing amazing ideas to people who really need what they offer.
Why did you want to start your business?
Technology is a fast paced sector and I know first hand how hard it is to make sure that the technology being used in my law firm was fit for purpose, meet our vision for expansion and also that we weren't overpaying or being locked into long agreements.
What are you looking to get out of this programme?
Support in being able to market a technology company, in particular public speaking at events. I also want to learn about funding and how to choose the right technical team members to develop the offering.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Karren Brady as I totally admire how she was able to use her skill sets, go into a totally new industry and be able to turn it around, even in the face of adversity.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Setting up and growing my law firm. Starting from my garage and now have over 50 full time staff across 4 branches.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Transitioning between each stage of growth as they each bring very different challenges and opportunities to the table.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
My network has been the main source of business advice, but I have learnt that each business is as individual as the founder and hence advice must reflect that.
What drives you to make your business a success?
To learn and grow personally, be financially independent to provide for my family and see new ventures come to life and grow.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Although it is important to research your market, competitors etc, don't fall into the trap of analysis-paralysis as it will lead to inaction. The best way to learn is to do whilst embracing and learning from the failures.
