PollenPay is a buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform that allows its users more financial flexibility on repaying purchases that they have made via Its platform.
PollenPay aims to allow its users to have a BNPL option for both in-store and online purchases anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
Why did you join the Barclays Black Founder Accelerator?
It seems like a great program aiming to do the right thing by raising awareness on social issues.
Why did you want to start your business?
I wanted to create something that would outlive me and for me to be somewhere and see people using something that we created.
What would be your desired outcome from this programme?
To help create awareness for both Black founders and founders from lower income families that they can create great businesses if they put their mind to it.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Steven Bartlett.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
The biggest win was securing our investment and getting the validation of the idea and business.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge was having the courage to stay the course and inspire the team to have blind faith.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
Life experience taught me the most about business, but also accelerator programs and previous work roles gave me a greater understanding on how to develop my business skills.
What drives you to make your business a success?
The inability to give up, and the people who joined me on my journey who showed me that people will follow if they believe.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Make sure you are mentally prepared for the journey ahead, and be ready to take on the biggest challenge of your life when no one can see the end but you.
