Barclays Black Founder Accelerator 2021 member
FullSpektrum

FullSpektrum (FS) provides innovative digital solutions that revolutionise the way we holistically manage, access and deliver statutory education, health and social care (EHC) support services, particularly to children and young people with difficulties in their learning & development.
Our company was born out of the desire for all children to have equal opportunities for social mobility and educational attainment.
Over the next 3 years, we intend to rapidly scale, technologically evolve and ambitiously become the ‘Google of Personalised Education & Healthcare’, starting with 'FS:INSIGHT', our ground-breaking cloud-based support intelligence platform, enabling providers of SEND services (including local authorities, schools, and NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups) to focus on the needs and outcomes of children and young people.
Why did you join the Barclays Black Founder Accelerator?
I would like to improve how my business is modelled and secure impactful strategies for commercial growth and further my development as a founder/CEO.
Why did you want to start your business?
I wanted to build a business that I could leave to my son. I promised him that he would not experience what I faced when I couldn't progress my career in the hands of the employers I worked for. Starting my own business wasn't just a showcase of my true abilities to lead and innovate, but also to leave a lasting legacy by making impactful change to my community and wider society.
What would be your desired outcome from this programme?
Improved credibility of my business, become a better CEO and utilise the ultimate corporate strategy that will turn my start-up into a world-leading company in education, health & social care innovation.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Nathaniel Peat - he was the first entrepreneur that took a chance in mentoring me and catalysed my journey in becoming an entrepreneur myself.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Securing £350,000 in Smart Grant funding from Innovate UK.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Fundraising and navigating a new and immature start-up during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
I always went to my mentors and advisors to provide business advice, in addition to my own research.
What drives you to make your business a success?
The promise I made to my son just before he was born - to provide him with a world-class business that he will lead, in addition to changing the face of education for everyone, so that he and his peers to not experience the hurdles I had to face as a neurodivergent learner.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Research and speak to as many people as possible to test and validate your business idea, before making a commitment to proceed in building a start-up company.
