Why did you join the Barclays Black Founder Accelerator?
I joined Barclays Black Founder Accelerator because of the reputable discipline Barclays Eagle Lab offers as well as the industry network support and advice I can get to grow my business.
Why did you want to start your business?
My personal motto is "to serve and to invest". Serving humanity, making the world a better place for all is my passion and BOMADU is one of the ways to express that.
What would be your desired outcome from this programme?
- Enrich and broaden my business knowledge and skills
- Build a network of industry contacts useful for growing my business
- Investment ready with potential investors contacts
- Become a business partner with Barclays.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
Anne Boden - I so much admire her fearless and dedication in establishing Starling bank despite so many challenges to the point of almost shutting down the business but enduring enough today, Starling is the best bank in the UK.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Finding a co-founder investor who invested a significant amount required to build my product MVP. An exceptional blessing this is!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Access to capital. As a Black Founder, very tough..!!!
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
I am a member of a few business mastermind clubs - which consists of experienced business owners that help with driving my business decisions forward.
What drives you to make your business a success?
Every time I remember the pain I went through to buy my first house and I remember that I have friends still going through similar pains and who may never have access to homeownership unless I carry on to see through to establishing BOMADU. I can't but just keep going and believing God that BOMADU will become a reality soon.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Get started today, tomorrow might be late.
