Mentor's bio
Ben is a tenured business leader with a wealth of operations and commercial experience in start-ups, scale-ups, and blue chip organisations.
He has led large, engaged teams through transformational projects, fundraising activities, and global expansions. He has worked across numerous sectors, including clean energy, technology, oil and gas, construction, utilities, telecommunications, consumer packaged goods, and consulting.
Most recently, Ben served as Vice President of Supply Chain for Field, a multinational renewable energy infrastructure/tech business. With a focus on grid-scale battery energy storage and optimisation, Field rapidly expanded into new geographies before closing an industry-leading £600m debt and equity Series C fundraise. Ben was responsible for creating, growing, and managing Field's complex multinational supply chain.
Ben is also on the Advisory Board for The 93% Foundation - a leading social mobility charity focussed on levelling the playing field between state and privately educated students.
Ben holds an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge. He is chartered with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain.
Outside of work, Ben is a fanatical rugby supporter (Wales and Llanelli Scarlets) and enjoys exploring new beaches, forests and fields with his partner Sapna and their dog Burfee. Ben is outgoing and personable by nature and immensely proud of his upbringing in rural Scotland (Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire).
