Simmons Wavelength, the world's first regulated legal engineering company, started life in the Barclays Eagle Lab in Cambridge almost five years ago. Founded by Peter Lee and Drew Winlaw, Wavelength offered legal tech consulting and bespoke tech products. It expanded rapidly and was acquired by international firm Simmons & Simmons in 2019.
In this video Adams Bhatti, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the legal regulatory and policy arena, including at the Law Society, discusses how the Lab played a crucial role in the ethos of Wavelength.
“You can't underestimate what how important it is to be around other people who are going through the same thing you're going through.
“One of the great strengths of being in the Lab for Wavelength was having this dynamic home, in which to base their own their own endeavours. It was really positive to the brand because this is a time where legal technology was still nascent,” says Adams Bhatti.
