Barclays Female Founder Accelerator 2023 member
Alta IP Limited
Alta IP’s purpose is to allow millions of SMEs to correctly value all of their IP and consequently increase their business valuations by at least 20%.
As such, Alta IP is developing and commercialising (B2B SaaS model) a Suite of Apps based on digitised IP Services. With a strong focus on leveraging new technology (such as AI) for the benefit of our customers, Alta IP is also capitalising on adjacent sectors - like FinTech, InsurTech, RegTech - to optimise the Apps and offering, and to also increase the extent of disruption in the IP valuation sector.
Why did you apply for the Female Founder Accelerator?
I want to improve my skills in running a SaaS business and developing products.
Do you think there's a need for programmes like this for Female Founders?
Yes, there is a need for programmes targeting the female founders since we do not receive the same amount of attention compared to male founders. We are also stereotyped and our skills are questioned in subtle ways.
Why did you want to start your business?
I wanted to make a difference in the way businesses are set up and run. I also wanted to deliver IP services and products in a non-conventional manner (the IP profession is very traditional and white male dominated).
What are you looking to get out of this programme?
Key goals:
- refine Alta IP's Value Proposition to better target all 4x categories of customers
- gain a better understanding of our Target Markets and their Values
- become more comfortable developing the Company's Finances (currently done by my co-founder)
- refine our existing Business & Financial Model
- explore Funding Sources
- equity funding for our rounds (we anticipate requiring 2x funding rounds); grant funding
- develop a better understanding of the Specialist Investors and what they want to see
