Why did you join the Barclays Black Founder Accelerator?
To meet like minded founders, to access networking events and to gain help with fundraising.
Why did you want to start your business?
During the pandemic my social page took off and grew over 140,000 followers in 12 months. Within that time we had an influx of clients asking us to find them a home.
As I'm a landlord, tenant, vendor & buyer I've experienced all aspect of the market and it's pitfalls. I believed hyper-personalisation and automation would solve a number problems home-movers & estate agents experienced. And so Million Pound Homes was born.
What would be your desired outcome from this programme?
To meet like minded founders and expand my network.
Which entrepreneur inspires you the most and why?
JayZ - His ability to adapt and dominate multiple industries regardless of backlash. Also the way in which he uses his platform to give back to the community.
What has been your biggest win in your entrepreneurial journey?
Reaching and conducting business with 20 estate agents - we have agreements in place with all of them.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Having six figures worth of deals falling through in a 6 month period.
Where did you go for business advice and how did it help you?
Successful friends, audiobooks/podcasts and mentors/advisors. Helped me think bigger and stay focused.
What drives you to make your business a success?
I'm strategically competitive and a problem solver. I believe my solutions will greatly benefit wider society which I'm passionate about.
What advice would you give other founders thinking about starting their own business?
Fail fast, learn and move on. It's not your fault however it's your responsibility. It's not real until it's in your bank account. Seek mentors and advisors that suit you!
