Until acquisition in 2021, I was the CTO (and board member) of a tech startup (ThirdEye Labs) in London. I joined just after the seed round, and two years later raised together with our CEO the series A round that was lead by Octopus Ventures. I helped grow the company to about 20 employees and built various MVPs and products. We were always focused on computer vision products for grocery retailers (and manged to sign 4 large retailers in UK and Europe), but we changed our product a few times to get to product market fit and to achieve a good value proposition. At the end, our on-prem system was deployed in 25 stores with minimal internet connectivity and was still able to notify store staff of events happening in the store within 5 seconds.
After the acquisition, I was a Director of Engineering Management at Standard AI, a Silicon Valley based autonomous checkout company (similar to Amazon Go). There was I working on the video backend saving the company millions annually of wasted cloud costs, and on increasing their addressable market by reducing infrastructure constraints.
I am now co-founder and CTO of www.vitvio.com. We are bringing our autonomous checkout expertise to hospitals to help them run operation theaters more efficiently. We are currently closing our pre-seed round and are in early talks with hospitals to adopt our technology.
