Corporate Connections Corporate Terms
Thank you for your interest in showcasing your company via Corporate Connections (CC).
Your problem statement will be contained in a form submitted via our website (Application Form), which we will review and list for review & response by start-ups who access our website and social media channels and wish to submit a proposed solution (Start-ups).
These terms and conditions cover your making available of a listing in relation to an innovation challenge you’d like us to make available on the Eagle Labs website for Start-ups to respond to (Terms).
By submitting your Application Form to us for CC, you (as a Participant) are agreeing to these Terms with Barclays Bank UK PLC (we, us, our).
If you are a member of Barclays’ Eagle Labs, these Terms are in addition to your Eagle Labs membership terms.

Criteria to participate
To submit your application, you must (i) represent a corporate entity with an annual turnover of at least £6.5 million per year; (ii) be based in the UK; (iii) be authorised to participate on behalf of the business you are representing.
Your Challenge Listing
We will use the information provided by you in the Application Form to create your written ‘Challenge Listing’.
No confidential or commercially sensitive information will be disclosed by You within any Challenge Listing content, or as part of these Terms. You confirm you are not intending to make any investment in the Start-ups identified through Corporate Connections.
Your Challenge Listing must comply with the Content Guidelines. You acknowledge that you are fully responsible for the content in your Challenge Listing, and meeting the requirements set out in the Content Guidelines.
Once provided, any information provided by you may be published in your Challenge Listing by us. If you do not want such information to be made available in this way, you must not share it with us.
If Barclays considers that your Challenge Listing does not comply with the Content Guidelines, we can remove the Challenge Listing from Corporate Connections.
You will provide us with objective eligibility criteria against which we will filter applications from Start-ups. These must be objective criteria which require no opinion or judgment from Barclays. Barclays will play no role in filtering, advising or recommending which Startups you should talk to, beyond these criteria.
Our use of your Challenge Listing
We may make your Challenge Listing available to on the Eagle Labs website and on our social media channels, at our sole discretion.
You grant to Barclays a non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence, to use all Intellectual Property Rights in (i) your Challenge Listing for use on the Challenge Page, and (ii) Your business name and logos (where required and agreed to by you) for the purposes of your appearance in the Challenge Page.
Our responsibility to you
Any information that you provide will be stored by Barclays. You acknowledge that your Challenge Listing will be made publicly available by Barclays once it is in agreed form. Once posted, Barclays has no control over the treatment or sharing of such information.
Barclays will play no role beyond the initial business introduction to the Start-up and will not be responsible for any interactions you may have with the Start-up. There is no guarantee that Barclays will connect you with Start-up businesses relevant to your needs set out in your Challenge Listing.
Barclays has no responsibility or involvement in any subsequent relationships or outcomes generated between yourself and the Start-ups in question.
Barclays Eagle Labs cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided by the Start-ups in their applications. It is up to you to carry out your own due diligence on the businesses.
Content Guidelines
Do talk about:
- Your company and its history
- Your team, their skills and background
- Your business ideas, offerings, products services and Unique Selling Point.
Do not talk about:
- Detailed financial information such as your financial performance, past or predicted
- Market share size or your current market share
- Confidential information which relates to your business, its performance or protection
- The size or timeframe of your capital raising – such details may be shared as part of the Directory listing.
Minimum requirements
All information provided by you in your Listing should be:
- Factually accurate and up to date
- Clear, fair and not misleading
- You must have received express permission from those featured or quoted in the content for their details and information to be included.
Prohibited Content
Your Listing must not contain anything that:
- is unlawful or abusive in any way, including, but not limited to, anything that is defamatory, libellous, pornographic, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, inclusive of hate speech, or would constitute or encourage a criminal offence
- infringes the rights of any party (including Intellectual Property Rights)
- gives rise to liability or violation of any applicable law.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, no member of the Barclays group makes any warranty, representation, or undertaking, express or implied, as to your participation in Corporate Connections or any information or materials provided (in writing or otherwise) in connection with the same, including any implied warranties of design, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Data Privacy
Barclays will anonymise any personal data provided by Start-ups and will not share any personal data with you when sharing Start-up applications.
No warranty and disclaimers
To the fullest extent permissible by law, no member of the Barclays group makes any warranty, representation, or undertaking, express or implied, as to your participation in the Challenge Listing or any information or materials provided (in writing or otherwise) in connection with the same, including any implied warranties of design, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Nothing provided by Barclays in connection with your participation in the Challenge Listing should be considered investment, legal or tax advice, and you should always seek independent advice in these regards.
Nothing in these Terms, your participation in Corporate Connections, or any advice given by any member of the Barclays’ group shall establish a fiduciary relationship or joint enterprise between you and any member of the Barclays’ group.
Liability
Nothing provided by Barclays in connection with your participation in Corporate Connections should be considered investment, legal or tax advice, and you should always seek independent advice in these regards.
Nothing in these Terms, your participation in Corporate Connectons, or any advice given by any member of the Barclays’ group shall establish a fiduciary relationship or joint enterprise between you and any member of the Barclays’ group.
Neither party excludes its liability where it is unlawful to do so, for example death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
Neither party will be liable to the other party for any indirect or consequential loss or damages (including any indirect loss of business, revenues, goodwill or profits) arising out of or in connection with these Terms, in each case whether arising from tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise.
We shall not be responsible to you for any loss suffered by you, where you have breached these Terms. For any other loss, our maximum aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms will not exceed £100.
Save as expressly set out in the above paragraph, we shall not be liable to you for any losses arising out of your participation in Corporate Connections.
Definitions
Application means a written application from a Start-up in response to your Challenge Listing;
Challenge Page means the collection of information related to selected businesses (including your Challenge Listing), to be made available on certain Eagle Labs channels (including email distribution lists, social media and its website);
Challenge Listing means the featured listing of your business on the Challenge Page;
Intellectual Property Rights means copyright, trade marks, rights in inventions, patents, rights in and to confidential information (including trade secrets and know-how) and all other intellectual property rights, in each case subsisting at any time in any part of the world; and
Term means the period starting on the Commencement Date and ending when the final handover meeting and/or email by Barclays.
General Provisions
Severability and no waiver. If any part of these Terms is held to be unenforceable by a court of competent authority, all other provisions will not be affected. If we do not exercise any right provided for in these Terms or delay doing so, this does not mean that we waive the right to exercise it in the future.
Governing law and jurisdictions. These Terms, and all disputes, claims, controversies, disagreements, actions and proceedings arising out of or in connection with them (including any non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and all proceedings relating to these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Third party rights. Nothing in these Terms shall create any right enforceable by any third party and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 shall not apply to these Terms.
Entire agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to its subject matter, and supersede and extinguish all previous agreements, promises, assurances, warranties, representations and understandings between us, whether written or oral, in relation to that subject matter.
