Application process should be “relatively simple”.
Applications for Future Fund support could be made as early as the first week of May, according to an industry expert who has been working with the government on the scheme.
Speaking at an Eagle Labs virtual event on 23 April, John Spindler of Capital Enterprise said that while details of the scheme and the application process were still being finalised, the hope was that applications could begin at the start of May.
Spindler explained that responsibility for designing the application system was with the British Business Bank, adding that more details about how the scheme would work and who would be eligible for support were expected in the week commencing 26 April.
“We have been told it will be a fairly simple application process and the company documentation that you will have to send in will be relatively easy for a startup that has raised before to supply,” he said.
Spindler was speaking as part of a panel discussion including Ian Campbell, Executive Chair of Innovate UK; Irene Graham, CEO of the ScaleUp Institute and Ben Davey, CEO of Barclays Ventures.
