Tell us about your business.
MediMusic uses a proprietary combination of digital fingerprinting, AI & machine learning to dispense music as medicine for the benefit of anxiety and pain relief - as well as providing a quantifiable ROI & multiple cost saving for healthcare services. Our experienced board of directors are a mix of award-winning and experienced individuals drawn from a number of relevant verticals.
Our Digital Drip™ service creates playlists, unique to each individual, that are designed to have both a cognitive and physiological impact which reduce heartrate and production of the stress hormone cortisol, whilst increasing the release of positive hormones etc such as Dopamine, Oxytocin, Immunoglobin and many more. Furthermore, if a listener does not respond as expected we can swap out tracks to bring their heart rate down faster or slower.
Based in Hull, we have a strong advisory panel of scientists and health-care experts, drawn from four UK universities and US management representation based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Typical uses of the MediMusic service are in dementia, pre/post op/ chronic pain management, dental anxiety, Parkinson’s, stroke, Autism, and other morbidities to which anxiety is often a part.

When did you start your business?
January 2020.
What's been your biggest highlight?
Constantly achieving statistically significant heart rate reduction, of over 20%, and major anxiety reduction in our first dementia-focussed trial with Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is particularly noteworthy as it has occurred in Sundowning cases where traditional nursing intervention is resource demanding, often with minimal results.
What's been your biggest challenge?
Not surprisingly, Covid-19.
