Nellie Cross the Mersey

We had a fantastic opportunity to host a Port Day at our local Cruise Terminal in Liverpool.   Our port day provided us with an opportunity to highlight and celebrate our successful inclusion and diversity initiative, colleague engagement and community engagement along with colleague development.

Our Port day was the 4th of 6 Port days on route allowing us to let guests and members of the community to see and hear about the voyage and understand further the work we do as an organisation to support greater accessibility in the workplace.  What a success it was!!  We ran sessions for our Community, Clients, Corporate and Colleagues, allowing those in attendance a chance to hear and see first-hand what our JST Voyage was all about and why are colleagues took part.  Hearing directly from able-bodied and disabled sailors how the Voyage is helping to change their views on disability.  Everyone found the day so inspiring…

“It opens the mind to see what you could do or achieve – you can make almost anything!”

We also had the opportunity to display how we have adapted and embraced digital innovation to address and understand challenges and opportunities faced by those with a disability and also offer guidance and advice. Our Eagle Lab created quite a crowd and really added the wow factor with all our visitors so impressed with how rapid prototyping is affecting real lives. All in all we have a hugely successful day, and a great celebration for our amazing colleagues who took part in the voyage.

Keep up to date with #RBV2017
