For 2023, we’ve taken an updated look at the data we used to create our Unlocking Growth: Creating Tech Ecosystems to Stimulate Local Economies report in 2021 to take a closer look at the entrepreneurial ecosystems in Southampton, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff.
Our original Unlocking Growth: Creating Tech Ecosystems to Stimulate Local Economies report, in partnership with Beauhurst, takes a deeper look at the vital role that local authorities and government initiatives outside of London play in creating thriving business communities to revitalise their local economies.
It explores the importance of public and private sector partnerships in creating strong local ecosystems in which businesses can start and scale successfully, and features an overview of the tech ecosystem landscape in the UK and then in-depth reviews of both the Manchester and Edinburgh ecosystems.
It then looks at the key components that make up an ecosystem and highlights the importance of collaboration to make a collective difference to the local economy.
