Relative Insight is a text analysis platform that started as a research project at Lancaster University. Its original intention was to assist law enforcement analyse online conversations they seize as part of their investigations. Today it uses the same technology to help its clients generate actionable insights from their text data. In this video interview James Walkerdine, Co-Founder and COO of Relative Insight, explains the trajectory of the business, how researchers and universities can commercialise their research, and provides some practical advice for getting an idea off the ground. He says the secret is knowing when to bring in help.
