Both have been awarded a £20,000 grant and expert mentorship.
The Positive Impact Pledge was launched in November 2020, as part of the Club’s commitment to harness innovation and create positive impact by encouraging entrepreneurialism and innovation in the region.
Initially the prize was to be awarded to one business after they had pitched to a panel of senior board members at Southampton Football Club, however the panel was so impressed by Sibstar and Labl.it that they decided to award two prizes.
Sibstar’s pre-paid card and app aims to provide financial independence to dementia sufferers. Founder, Jayne Sibley said: “We were delighted to win Southampton Football Club’s Positive Impact Pledge. Labl.it’s commercial kitchen management software is designed to automate the food preparation process for the hospitality sector. Labl.it CTO, Sean Larsen, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as a winner of the Southampton Football Club Positive Impact Pledge. Not only are we extremely grateful for the prize funding, but equally the chance to work in collaboration with the club and its partners. We are really looking forward to our product launch and seeing the Labl.it device helping in commercial kitchens across Southampton and beyond."
