Meet our Jersey mentors

Luke Smith

Luke is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants with over 20 years’ experience in accounting environments, having trained with KPMG and then moved into industry before buying back into practice in 2007.

His business provides financial direction to almost 30 non-competing organisations too big not to have regular financial reporting but too small to commercially justify the cost of a full time FD.

As Virtual FDs, Luke and his team present over 60 bespoke MI packs at monthly board meetings – each of which focus management in on predictive performance indicators and the turnover and cost drivers which are vital to propel results forward.

Neil McCluskey

Neil joined Barclays in September 2012 as Head of Local and Offshore Corporates. Along with his team, Neil provides a full banking service to a range of clients, from start up local Jersey businesses through to listed corporates with international requirements.

Neil provides a full banking service to a range of clients, from start up local Jersey businesses through to listed corporates with international requirements.  Prior to joining Barclays, Neil had an extensive career of over 32 years with HSBC and National Australia Bank covering UK Corporate and business banking clients. Neil holds the full Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) qualification.

Tony Moretta

Tony has over 20 years experience across a wide range of digital industries, including mobile, online, broadcast, payments, and data analytics, building new technology based businesses.

Beginning his career at NatWest, rising to Senior Manager Commercial Development in their cards business, he went on to Visa Europe as VP of New Products, then ITV Digital as Director of Interactivity, followed by senior positions at National Grid Wireless and Digital Radio UK, where as CEO he increased digital radio sales from 5 to 11 million and persuaded the car industry to standardise it.

Recently he led digital projects for UK Government and major corporates, and was one of the founders of Weve, a joint venture between EE, O2 & Vodafone in mobile marketing, payments and data analytics.

As CEO of Digital Jersey, Tony is leading the drive to build a strong digital industry here, working with Government, the private sector and organisations around the world.

Barclays are working in partnership with the Jersey Library, The States of Jersey and Digital Jersey to bring a Barclays Eagle Lab Maker Space and Co-Working Space to Jersey.
