Eagle Labs take part in Disabled Access Day!

Barclays Eagle Labs launched in December 2015 with the ambition to improve the lives of people in the communities which we serve.

The family grew through 2016, and as part of this hosted and organised events focussed on improving inclusion and accessibility.

By September this could be seen across the UK with a pop-up Lab at Parallel London; a family festival hosted at the Olympic Park with push and run events and a colourful celebration of inclusion.

In partnership with MyMiniFactory Eagle Labs organised a competition to create an original 3D printable design that solves an everyday problem. Entries included devices to make chores easier and enabling devices, allowing those with disabilities greater accessibility. And to bring these themes together, the last weekend of the month was an action packed two day event to bring together a dream team of specialists, leading disability charities and people with real life everyday challenges to get creative and pioneer the latest in sustainable accessible gadgetry and tech for people with disabilities. Hosted at Makerversity in Somerset House, the Maker Change Makerthon was a great opportunity to create prototypes that would alleviate challenges will be set by real people, and improve accessibility.

What’s going on?

If you’re lucky enough to live near an Eagle Lab call in to find out more about how we can help make things more accessible. There are a range of fun and inclusive activities on offer, across the country.

Eagle Labs Accessibility Statement

The creation of some of our Eagle Labs sites has only been made possible thanks to the availability of underutilised space across our estate. Unfortunately, this means that in some cases we have inherited historical ‘back office areas’ or very old premises which don’t have the same high levels of physical access we would usually strive for.
