Tell us a little more about Airsorted and your mission

At Airsorted, we’re extremely passionate about the benefits of home-sharing. It creates authentic and unique experiences for guests; and for hosts, the extra income enables them to do more of what they want. The problem is that for many homeowners, who don’t have the time or the expertise, home-sharing is not accessible. Airsorted manages all aspects of home-sharing on the hosts’ behalf.

Since we were founded in 2014 by James Jenkins-Yates, we now have operations in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Brighton and Sydney - with many more cities launching in 2018, both in UK and globally.

What sets Airsorted apart?

Airsorted works. 99% of our cleans are rated 4* or 5*, our average guest message response time is less than 15 minutes, we have a TrustPilot score of 9.3 (and we’re the largest homestay management company in the world).

Our customers (or “hosts” as we call them) like that we use technology to make the whole process effortless, with the knowledge that there’s a team locally that they can call, email or pop in to say hi to, should they wish.

Where is Airsorted at in the business journey now?

We’re using the experience we’ve learned from the last three years of managing over 1500 properties in London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Sydney - so we can expand to new cities with confidence that we can offer the same 5* service, globally.

What have been your biggest challenges to get where you are today?

Achieving 99% 4* or 5* cleans has been a massive challenge. We tested using third party cleaning companies, however we could not guarantee the quality or consistency of cleaning standards. We now do all cleans in house and have developed scalable recruitment and training programs for all our cleaners. Part of this is working out the best payment structures (we’re very proud to pay well above the “true” living wage in all cities we operate in) and part of this is understanding what incentivises cleaners to achieve a high standard in every clean.

What tips do you have for entrepreneurs starting out on their journey?

You can’t do everything yourself. Hire a great team to help you and trust them to make good decisions and to execute well.

How can Eagle Labs support you in your journey?

Eagle Labs have been a fantastic support with Airsorted’s launch into Brighton and Hove. They’ve supported us by giving us access to their meeting rooms, so we can conduct interviews for cleaners, handymen and our local office team. (Thank you Eagle Labs!)

What does the future hold for Airsorted – what are your plans and the next big challenge?

We’re growing. We’re focussed on building trust with more hosts in more cities to enable home-sharing, globally.
